LAUNCH PARTY
Below you can see a video that our documentary and YouTube crews put together about our Launch Party event, where we launched our Kickstarter campaign.
It was a great success! We raised over $2,000 that night! But the road to get there was a tough one...
We contacted so many different companies to see if they would be able to donate food or desserts for our event, with little success...
And another important part was getting people to actually attend! Below is a sample of our Press Release put together but the Publicity team.

Beyond The Crossfire: 45 High School Students Striving to Make Our Communities Safer
San Diego, CA -- Date Released-- 45 high school students from High Tech High Chula Vista are starting a Kickstarter campaign to raise money in order to create a feature-length documentary on the causes of gun violence in the United States and what they can do to reduce it. The documentary will focus on the students’ determination to expand the conversation about gun violence beyond the Second Amendment. To include mental health care, school reform, the way we raise our children, and many other factors. In the end, the students hope their documentary will rally all Americans to work together to make the changes necessary to prevent gun violence and make our country safer.
To learn more about the issue, students hope to travel to communities affected by gun violence, such as those in Chicago and New York, and learn about what individuals are doing to reduce it. The students hope to raise at least $20,000 to cover the cost of travel, equipment, production, and distribution of the film. However, to make a much higher-quality film, they need to raise at least $60,000. To raise the desired amount, students will incorporate their ideas, creativity, and learning into a Kickstarter campaign called Beyond the Crossfire. For additional information on Beyond the Crossfire visit (our website) or contact at [email protected].
This 30th of October, adolescents working on Beyond The Crossfire will have a launch party for their campaign in hopes of raising money and awareness to fund their project. The event will consist of a brief introduction describing their project and how they anticipate on collecting funds through kickstarter. Following that brief introduction, a showing of the actual kickstarter video will be presented to members of the community. After the showing refreshments will be offered to guest, while students explain their processes and hopes for the project. The evening is achieving to be a successful night in which the community becomes informed about the start of Beyond The Crossfire and its mission.
