Projectile Motion Project
For this project, we were placed in teams of two where we had to make a projectile launcher that had to be able to accurately shoot a small ball and hit a target. The projectile, however, is acted upon by two forces, the initial force that launches the ball horizontally through the air and the gravity that pushes the ball downward and makes its fall. We had to use these forces in our favor to accurately shoot the ball and hit a target. We had to do so by using only rubber bands to launch the projectile.
I thought that this project made me finally understand the whole idea of parabolas and how a perfect parabola defines the pah of a projectile. I did not only learn about parabolas, I also learned how cooperation and refinement can make all the difference when completing a project, or anything in that matter. While working with my partner, Gerry Carrillo, we learned to use each other's strengths to our advantage and complete the project. We also lerned that refinement can make all the difference between launching the projectile 5 feet and 5 meters. We had to build, test, and refine our projectile baout three times before we finally got it to work how we wanted to. All in all, I really enjoyed this project.
